Industry sources said that the number of Samsung 3 nano GAA related patents was insufficient

Samsung Electronics is preparing for mass production of the world's leading 3nm GAA process technology. Samsung plans to complete product design and quality inspection with major customer companies in the first half of this year, but foreign media have revealed that the number of relevant patents is insufficient.



The source said that the company lags behind in establishing the 3nmgaaip library. According to industry companies, by 2020, TSMC has obtained about 35000-37000 IPS, more than 10 times that of 10 years ago. In contrast, Samsung OEM may have about 7000-10000 IPS.



Samsung OEM and TSMC have been talking about their competition for advanced manufacturing processes. Especially in recent years, 7Nm, 5nm, 4nm and 3nm, both of them have fierce competition for each process node.
