It is reported that Rohm, a Japanese IDM manufacturer, plans to expand the revenue of silicon carbide (SIC) power semiconductors to more than 100billion yen by 2025; Roma will invest up to 170billion yen to increase the capacity of silicon carbide power semiconductors to six times that in 2021.
According to the report, on June 8, Roma held the opening ceremony of the special production plant for silicon carbide power semiconductors in Zhuhou City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. President Matsumoto of Roma said that we should take the new factory as the starting point and aim to become the world's leading city in 2025. This is also the first time that a Japanese semiconductor manufacturer has built a special plant for SiC Power Semiconductors in Japan.
